I want to tell you about..
The blogs I read, the books I devour,
Movies that enthrall me...
Songs that bring a smile.
The small things I cherish...
Like warm letters in brown envelopes,
The dance of raindrops on a tin roof.
The aroma of sautéed onions and warmth of saffron sunsets,
The crisp sweetness of orange ‘jalebees’…
The smell of new books, and home-baked brownies.

I want to share…
The soft sunshine that drapes me in happiness,
The flamingo pink of the evening sky…
The memories that bring a basketful of joy..
The jokes that make me giggle -
Like a little pig-tailed girl,
And… the scars which healed with time…
(But I don’t want to share..things I’d rather forget)

I want to show you...
Forgotten paper boats in muddy puddles,
Rainbows in semi-sunny skies...
Golden chrysanthemums on a blue day,
Wild flowers on the wayside.
Green-gold parrots in my eucalyptus tree…
And black-n-white snapshots of yester years;
Pictures of a toothless, grinning …baby me.
